The Vision Behind the Canvas

Through familiar ground - oil on canvas (framed)

Sal McFord’s current collection "Quiet Place" - is an exploration of landscape and nature where the boundaries between physical reality and emotional memory blur.

Each painting is a deliberate act of re-interpretation, using bold colour palettes and expressive brushwork to capture the soul of the land.

Based in the sleepy river town of Queanbeyan, NSW.
Sal's studio practice is defined by a commitment to contemporary oil, acrylic and mixed-media techniques.

Her art invites viewers to find a deeper connection with the natural world through a lens of both abstraction and storytelling.

You can visit her lovely little timber studio by appointment.

The Art Studio

Sal's art studio is a small cottage set within her garden in Queanbeyan —
a quiet sanctuary where she spends her days painting.

It’s a calm, tucked-away space that gives the freedom to focus, experiment and connect more deeply with the landscapes being interpreted.
